This is a wonderful edge to edge design. Each row intermeshes with the previous, but there is no great gap at the top and bottom for the start/finish rows.
It gives the appearance of free-motion quilting - without you having to stand over the machine and do the free-motion quilting.
I have stitched this out at a 20" repeat - and still it looked great, giving nice even results with no worrying large gaps.
