- Cable Fantasy: used this pattern in the outer border
Tips & Info
- Cables are much like feathers - sometimes difficult to match up the border corners with the border repeats.
When you resize the corners - they stay in exactly the same proportions as what they were drafted in. When you resize the border repeats if there is no expansion or contraction required then all is well.
The difficulty arises if expansion or contraction of the border repeats is required. They will work perfectly between the repeats, but where the border repeats meet the corners - manipulation will need to go on - be it morphing of the pattern on the screen, or slowing the machine way down and using the screen as a guide, manipulate the fabric as it is sewn.
Think of a border and its corner just of circles. The corner will always remain pure circles. However, if the border repeats are contracted the circles turn into eggs - standing on their ends.
If the border repeats are expanded the circles again turn into eggs - but this time lying down.
In each instance - all the little eggs will sit beautifully side by side - but when they suddenly turn into circles at the corners care needs to be taken.
