Feather 2 bdr & cnr 24a fill (2) $18.00 USD
This variation of the 'Feather 2 bdr and cnr' has been developed for a customer who did not really like the unquilted areas between the borders and the feathers themselves.
Parallel lines go right out to the edges and up to a boundary, and then back into the feathers. They highlight the effect of the feathers.
These lines are quilted at the same time as the feathers.
Use the trim function to make it sew the lines in and out of the inner edge - exactly where there inner edge is sitting on you machine.
Design Features
- with a Statler Stitcher the lengths of the lines can be varied and yet they will still sew continuously the 'fill/inside' feature between 2 boundaries.
- the line lengths could also be varied by using the trim function but there would be some tie-offs where the outside border lines are around the very outside of the border corner.
- if not using the 'fill/inside' or trim functions, place the outside corner lines either
- out within the seam allowance (if being used for an outer border) or
- right in the seam line if being used elsewhere - this variation of feathers can tolerate a reasonable amount of expansion or contraction.<br>- the feathers are slightly apart from each other so there is gap (which I think of as an 'expansion gap') between them where the stitching goes in to and out from the spine.
