The patterns are pretrimmed at different lengths so that you can select the one closest to the size of your quilt and you are away.
There is a little tail at the start and end of the pattern, so that when they match up on the repeats, they overlap as shown in the illustration. The amount of overlap can be changed of course - to more or to less.
This is a design where you have only one repeat across the quilt, and the required number down to fill in the quilt length.
