I Should Have Gone Sailing
Sharon PerryLots of scraps of fabric were put together randomly to form large squares. What I thought was going to be a quick and easy job actually took a long time, and when I came across a scrap with a sailing boat on I thought that perhaps that's what I might have been better doing!
The scrap squares were then set on point into bars with setting triangles. When the bars were put together, they were off-set with each other to make a 'path' between them.
This path between the squares gave room for wonderful quilting. A point to point triangle pattern was used, and wool batting sculptured the quilting beautifully.
Placing the quilt sideways on the machine meant that a complete column of triangles could be sewn continuously. The trim function was used to sew just half a pattern on the small triangles.
