"I started the paper piecing as I was looking for a new challenge and had not done this before.
The quilt is for my son and daughter-in-law. They like greens and yellows - hence the colour.
There are approximately 1927 hexagons and it took approximately 7 months to complete."

This is just such a fantastic hexagon setting - green flowers, yellow setting blocks and cream swirl paths. When you close your eyes just slightly you can see that yellow hexagons actually form star points for the flowers. What a dream!
Miep has just received this quilt, and was very happy to discover that there were patterns designed especially for hexagons. She was especially happy to be able to place them ALL using the p2p function on her Statler Stitcher.
She had the butterfly pattern for when hexagons were in a 'triangular' format - but found it was for a group of 3 hexagons - whereas the triangle of gold hexagons in this quilt was a group of 6!
A quick redesign was done - and boy was it worth it!

- Large Blue flowers: Daisy star hex 19 (2)
- White paths: Swirls hex ring 18 (2)
- Yellow 'star' points - the p2psu version was used: Butterfly Elegance hex 6 (2)
