Jocelyn always makes such beautiful quilts - and this one is no exception.
This time it evolved from a dutch quilt kit purchased for her by her husband. She started making the LeMoyne stars, loved doing so, so purchased even more fabric for an even bigger quilt! There are lots and lots of different stars to find.
This quilting pattern took quite some time to arrive at - but I think it was worth the wait! The design goes well with both the size of the block and the style of the fabric.
The LeMoyne stars are small - just 5¾"! So there could not be many quilting lines, and they had to fit - which they did beautifully. The setting triangles really showcase the quilting and make the framing for the on point blocks look wonderful.
At Wellington Quilters Guild 2012 exhibition this quilt won 2 prizes:
