Math Class Quilt

from Sheryl:
(I have pieced) a quilt that is a collaboration between myself and a middle school math class. At the request of my sisiter-in-law, who is their teacher, I concocted an assignment that involve them coming up with a quilt design using a specific set of parapmeters. They all did a great job and I finally chose one of them to make.'
And then - after she had finished the very striking piecing Sheryl went on to do a magnificent job on the quilting - so much so that the quilt won
the award for 'Most Innovative Quilting' at her local quilt show.
I had already been struck by her innovation in alternating the designs and in her choice of designs - especially in choosing Modern Logs as one of them - but it looks so effective, have a look at the reverse of this quilt!
