Milefiore, La Passacaglia quilt
Marlene B, AustraliaMarlene hand pieced this wonderful quilt - and therefore wanted it to have custom quilting. She knew that a lot of the quilting may get 'lost' in the business of the design - but it was to be the final 'icing' on her wonderful cake.
Marlene had already hand pieced some fabulous hexagon quilts which I had done quilting designs for and I thought that the same ideas could be applied to pentagon shapes. The pieces were very small so the quilting would have to be not too fussy - enough to hold and highlight as required.
The result was stunning - Marlene was able to place all the designs accurately and quickly using the p2p function with her Statler Stitcher. (for others, the p2psu blocks are placed finding the centre of the area to be quilted).

which is now finished(including binding). As you can see, your designs
worked perfectly and the quilting was a breeze taking only 7-8 hours
altogether. As the outer circles of pentagon stars and diamonds are not
complete circles, I divided your pattern for the waves and circles when
needed to fill the odd end of row. The border uses your double circle
border design. Thank you once again for designing these patterns, they were just perfect."
- when looking for these designs, apart from clicking on the design image below - use the filters in the General Patterns area and I have put a 'Pentagon' one in there.

- in the centre of the stars: Wave Circle pent p2p
- for the centres of the rings: Pentagon Star centre (2)
- groups of 6 pentagons: Flower pent 6 (3)
- ring around the central group: Dbl circle pent ring 10 p2psu
- Border: Dbl circles bdr & cnr (2)
